The pace starts to quicken as this the first week back at uni. This week mainly taken up with induction and registration, so they will not get going until next week. This is the third and final final year and I hope to graduate with a B.A (Hons) Fine Art, so at the moment the focus is on the dissertation and working in the studio in preparation for the Degree show of 2009. On a slightly different note I am hoping to get to London this Frday to see Art of London at the Royal Chelsea Hospital. The site is well worth looking at as it has good links with the exhibitors. |

Flowers In A Blue Vase by Van Gogh
Todays painting in the continuing Van Gough Series is Flowers in a Blue Vase. This was painted in June 1887 and at the time Van Gogh was becoming more interested in Natural things and in particular Flowers “He is a painter , he will remain a painter; whether he, still young, translates Holland into the dark, whether he, alittle bit older. paints Montmartre and its gardens as a Divisionist or whether he paints ( the south or Auvers-sur-Oise) with a furious application of colour . Whether he loses himself in colour spots or deformation. he will remain a painter for ever and ever” Emile Barnard page 27 Van Gough by Ingo Walther Taschen 2006 |
