George Vicat Cole ( 1833-1893)-On Holmbury Hill

George Cole lived at Holmbury Cottage next to the hill for five years so must have have grown used to the hill , all its moods as well its weather.

In this painting  he uses the dark presence of a approaching shower cloud to highlight the sky as being the feature of this painting, there is a single figure walking on a track will they get caught in a possible downpour of rain?

This was a experimental pice done with PVC Glue and Acyrlic, Floating the Acrylic  on the Glue and letting it dry after letting the shape form, The painting the background blue though I did Paint to start a balck background in emusion paint,
