Winter’s Dawn

Both paintings are 6inches x4inches and Acrylic.

We are moving nearer winter when the days sometimes never really seem to get light, a time of lots of sunrise ans sunsets as the days are shorter.

Playing around with the colour red here as well, red is a strong coloure so needs dilluting a bit browns go well representing the earth

A Journey Into Abstract

The first of a series I think, this somewhat of a new departure a journey into abstraction. it still wants to be landscape but…could be a form of mind map or even thought forms something known but unseen, sensed.

It wants to be something but it is not…..

I feel there is more to happen with this new series so stay tuned!

The Wanderer

Standing on a Rock

absorbing the landscape before the eye

Master of all

Owner of none

Nature Surpreme

The person on the rock reminds me of the  famous painting by Casper David Friedrich (1774-1840)

Still in drawing mode!

Der Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer

The Energy Of Drawing

img558Drawing has a different energy to that of painting, perhaps obvious but worth stating here. There is a more direct connection between the hand and the mind for one thing and can be a lot harder to do. You do not have to be a good drawer to be a painter or good painter to be able to draw. The two energies can be quite seperate. Maybe if you want accuracy in your paintings say as a watercoloulerst then maybe.,  the two energies combine over the use of perspective etc but then that is another energy as well. Creativity is made up of so many different Energies all waiting to form a piece of Art, the coming together at the one time called now
