This is by no means a perfect painting, probably not finished and maybe even to be painted over but there are possibilities even here, Somehow I even like the light dark contrast and line showing in the middle from a previouse painting, what would you do?stop or start another one….decisions.

Inspired by yesterdays visit to Hayling Island .
I have exploited the watercolour effects you can get with acrylic and used variouse washes. This was done on recycled cartridge paper and was quite thick. It was a A3 pad and had been hanging around for ages, new there was a reason for keeping it!

Summer Squall, 1904 (oil on canvas)
Driftwood, 1909 (oil on canvas)
Two different paintings by Wilson Homer similar style but done in different years and at first glance you might be mistaken for thinking they are the same one. Same colours but different stories.

This Striking painting was painted be the American painter William Trost Richards and shows Lands Land in Cornwall at its most dramatic.
You can almost feel the spray of the sea in this painting and I like the golden light the painter achieves,
I shall certainly be returning to this artist again as he paid 3 or [...]

In 1903 Herbert Bernard John Everertt and his wife moved to Dorset. Here he bought a yatch the ‘Warlus’ and spent much of each year cruising the South Coast of England.
